PPTU Board Moderation Guidelines
Derogatory, obscene or otherwise unsuitable usernames or content will not be tolerated.
The hosts and administrators have the ability to remove objectionable comments and questions.
In a case of a repeat offense, the administrators may ban temporarily or indefinitely a user from participating on the forum.
Business advertising for personal gain is prohibited. You are allowed to recommend and write reviews for corporate products and services in moderation. You may also advertise your own (individual) products and services as long as it doesn't break any other rules and is done in moderation.
PPTU welcomes members who would like to occasionally sell new and or gently used fishing gear to fellow PPTU members. This is often achieved during the annual flea market hosted by the chapter at a monthly meeting. Whether it's at the flea market or selling through the PPCTU Forum, it is suggested that the seller consider a minimum donation to PPTU based on 10 percent of the sale price.
Non-moderators should refrain from attempting to enforce the rules themselves. If they are concerned about a possible rule violation, they should contact the moderator by sending an email to:
Members that do not abide by the rules may be subject to having their posts edited or deleted, their member account permanently banned from further access and/or deleted without notice.
Optional Forum Settings
There are several options as to how messages from the forum will come to you. The default is for the forum to send you each message posted to the group as it arrives. A second option is to receive a daily digest, a single email message containing all the messages posted during the last day. A third option is no email delivery, using instead an online archive of messages. However, attachments that go out with messages via the other options are NOT kept in the archive, so sometimes you miss out on some things with this option. Lately, forum traffic has run between 100 and 300 messages per month. If you would like to use one of these options and aren't familiar with how to change this setting, or if you encounter other problems with using the forum, send an email to
There's one more option that wasn't previously mentioned, and one that you should seriously consider even if you don't want your mail box full of trip reports, information on local streams, tying hints and all that other wasted space. There's also an option to receive important announcements only. These would typically be last minute cancellations of meetings due to inclement weather.
It should be noted that if Montgomery County has canceled ALL evening (not just school) activities due to the weather, our meeting will be canceled.
