Membership In PPCTU

Payment of your annual Trout Unlimited dues automatically grants you membership in the Potomac Patuxent Chapter (PPCTU), No. 236, if so identified by zip code or by your request.  If you are not a member of Trout Unlimited please see the Join TU National page. If you contact us as a new member of PPCTU, or if you have signed up to be a new member at an event where you have paid your Trout Unlimited dues and have requested to become a member of PPCTU, you will receive an introductory packet and up to a year's subscription to the chapter publication, The Conservationist.  In addition, anyone else, including a member of another TU Chapter, paying the Annual Supporting Contribution (ASC) (see below) for the first time will receive up to a year’s subscription to the chapter publication, The Conservationist and have the same benefits as a PPCTU member. Any first time supporters will also receive the introductory packet described below.  The wording up to a year’s subscription is used since the Chapter functions on a September to September basis. This means that whenever you paid the ASC or were eligible to receive a free ASC package through a new membership in TU/PPCTU, those benefits will expire the following September unless you paid the ASC or became a new TU/PPCTU member between April and September in which case your benefits will be extended until the second September.

PPTU Listserver:

Join the PPTU Listserver and share local fishing reports and other fishing news with chapter members via email. To subscribe, send an email from the email account you want added to the listserver, to ppctu-subscribe@yahoogroups.com 

PPTU Library:

Access to an extensive library (both books and video) on fly fishing and fly tying.

Participate in Conservation Projects, including:

• Float stock Patuxent River Special Area and other local streams
• Habitat Improvement Projects in the Patuxent and Gunpowder Watersheds
• Assist DNR in fish surveys on local streams

Join other members in group Outings -- a great way to discover where to fish and other tips.

Use our Mentor Program to learn from experienced anglers.

Enroll in fly-tying classes at a reduced fee.

Your support for our Chapter with a $20 Annual Supporting Contribution (ASC) will be greatly appreciated and allows you to receive a copy of our chapter publication, The Conservationist prior to each monthly meeting, as well as the benefits outlined above. The ASC covers the Conservationist subscription from one September to the next September.

I'm hooked -- how do I join?

As mentioned above, by paying your annual Trout Unlimited dues you are automatically a member of Potomac Patuxent Chapter, No. 236, if so identified by zip code or by your request.  The Annual Supporting Contribution is voluntary, and hopefully you will support us with your contribution because it helps support our Chapter activities which in turn bring value to your trout fishing experience.   In addition to receiving The Conservationist, you receive other benefits from your contribution such as a reduced fee for our fly tying class, and certain Chapter related activities and offers.  Most importantly, you will help sustain the growth and the viability of our Chapter through your interaction and your participation. Please print the Annual Supporting Contribution Form, mark it with your preference of how you wish to receive The Conservationist, and mail it to:

Chapter publication expiration dates are indicated in the mailing label of The Conservationist as PP-09xx where "xx" is the year of the NEXT September.
